Team formats

One format per week, announced along with the course at least a week in advance. Every week's handicap math is printed right on the scorecard header, so you know it before you swing.

Scramble

Both of you hit every shot and play the better one. One team ball, one team score.

Your team handicap: 35% of the lower handicap plus 15% of the higher, never more than 18. So a 10 and a 20 get 3.5 + 3.0 = 6.5, which rounds up to a team handicap of 7.

Better ball

Both play your own ball, and the lower score counts on each hole.

Your handicap: each teammate plays off 85% of your own handicap with no cap.
A 10 plays as a 9, a 20 plays as a 17.

Alternate shot

One ball between you, taking turns until it's holed.

Your team handicap: add your two handicaps and take half. A 10 and a 20 add to 30, so the team plays off 15.

Greensome

Both of you tee off, pick the better drive, then alternate shots until the ball is holed.

Your team handicap: 60% of the lower handicap plus 40% of the higher. A 10 and a 20 get 6 + 8, a team handicap of 14.

Own ball

Both play your own ball, and every stroke counts. Your team score is both scores added together.

Your handicap: the full thing. A 10 plays as a 10, a 20 plays as a 20. Net adds your two net scores; gross adds the raw ones.

House rules

Handicaps

You need a Trackman handicap. Don't have one? Let us know and we'll give you two free rounds to set it up.

Handicaps change during the season

Your handicap keeps updating as you play, so it can move during the season. Each week you play off the number you have that night, and finished weeks never get rescored. Same rule as Season 1.

Handicap math

Format determines your team handicap. The math for each format is spelled out above, rounded to the nearest whole number.

League night setup

We set every bay up the same way each week: same course, same tees, same gimme distances, mulligans off. Trackman keeps score and posts it for you.

Fair play

Sandbagging takes your team out of the running for the net prize.

Refunds

Full refund until Monday, July 27. After that, no refunds, but you can hand your spot to another player. Solo players: if we can't find you a partner by opening night, you get a full refund.

Subs and missed weeks

Can't make a night? Send a sub in weeks 1 through 3. Subs play their own handicap if they have one, zero if they don't. Week 4 you play it yourselves.

If nobody can make it, play the round early or reschedule inside the same league week if a bay is open.
